QUESTION:
WHAT IS THE PERCENTAGE OF ALPHA HYDROXY ACIDS IN THE DAYTIME SMOOTHING COMPLEX?
The percentage of alpha hydroxy acids in our Daytime Smoothing Complex is 8%. This is a very effective level of AHA. Ours is from five natural source extracts which are less irritating than chemically derived AHAs. Additionally, we have included counter-irritants in our formula which even further reduces the irritation potential. As a result, we can confidently recommend our Daytime Smoothing Complex for daily use for all skin types.
QUESTION:
If I am going to use both the Daytime Smoothing Complex and the Daily Hydration Complex, which do I apply first?
After toning, apply the Daytime Smoothing Complex then the Daily Hydration Complex.

WHAT IS THE BIODEGRADABILITY OF THE HARPER PRODUCTS?
All "wash-off products," such as shampoos, moisturizing body wash and facial cleansers contain biodegradable surfactants and the formulations contain nothing harmful to the environment. There are no biodegradable studies on the creams and toners, as biodegradability is not an issue with these products. These products are massaged into the skin and thus very little, if any, would ever enter the environment. In any case, 90% of the molecular structure of the ingredients in these products is biodegradable or inert.

ARE THERE ANY SUNSCREENS IN THE MOISTURIZERS?
There are no sunscreens in the moisturizers. Currently we suggest that you use a sunscreen containing the appropriate and correct SPF factor for you and the activity in which you are engaged. The sunscreen should be applied over your moisturizer.

WHAT IS THE pH LEVEL OF THE HARPER SHAMPOOS?
The shampoos are pH balanced and have a pH level of 6.5. Normal skin and scalp pH levels are between 5.5 and 6.

CAN I USE ANY OF THE HARPER PRODUCTS ON COLD SORES?
Cold sores are a form of Herpes Simplex 1 which usually lies dormant in the body but can be activated by sunlight, stress, menstruation and other causes. Harper Problem Skin Treatment with Tea Tree Oil applied to the affected area three to four times daily can effectively help ease the discomfort of the cold sore.

What is the guarantee on the Harper products?
If any Harper product causes an irritation or an allergic reaction, have your customer write a note indicating which product was used and describing the adverse reaction experienced. You give your customer their money back, then return the unused portions of the product, along with the note, to the company. The company will then replace the product.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE DAILY HYDRATION COMPLEX AND THE DAYTIME SMOOTHING COMPLEX? WHEN SHOULD I USE THEM OR DO I USE BOTH TOGETHER?
Daytime Smoothing Complex contains 8% alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) from 5 natural source fruit acids, in a formula that also contains special counter irritants, toning and clarifying botanicals, anti-oxidants and moisturizers. The AHAs produce a continuous exfoliation of the dead skin cells on the top layer of the skin, allowing the skin to develop new, younger skin cells resulting in a smoother complexion - fine lines and minor skin imperfections disappear, discolouration is reduced, your skin appears fresher and younger-looking. This complex can be used by all skin types - it helps diminish blemishes and adds needed moisture to oily/blemish-prone skin and reduces flaking and find lines in dry of aging skin.
Daily Hydration Complex is an exceptional moisturizing cream containing botanical extracts and essential fatty acids that firm, smooth and aid in younger-looking skin. It also contains skin regenerating ingredients (free radial scavengers to combat the cell degenerating effects of skin pollutants) and moisture binders to hold precious moisture in the skin.
People with oily skin may find that they do not need any other moisturizer when they use Daytime Smoothing Complex.
Dry skin people will want to use both creams. After toning, apply Daytime Smoothing Complex and then Daily Hydration Complex. For the ultimate benefit from Daytime Smoothing Complex, you can apply it at night, too, under the Night Recovery Complex.
QUESTION:
MY CUSTOMER HAS NORMAL TO DRY SKIN AND HAS BEGUN USING ALL THE APPROPRIATE HARPER PRODUCTS. HER SKIN IS ITCHY - WHY?
Occasionally someone will experience a little itchiness when first using Alpha Hydroxy Acid which is found in our Daytime Smoothing Complex. This is only a temporary condition which will disappear within a few days or so. Some people also experience flaking when they first use Daytime Smoothing Complex. This is normal. It means the cream is working, exfoliating the dead skin. Flaking is also a temporary situation.
QUESTION:
HARPER DOESN'T HAVE A SHAVING CREAM FOR MEN? WHY NOT?
There are 3 products that men use for shaving - Cucumber Cleanser, Triple Protein Conditioner and Tea Tree Soap Free Facial Cleanser. Men find that they get a very smooth shave, their razors don't clog, and the life of the blade is about a third longer. (Tea Tree Soap Free Facial Cleanser give a great lather if you use a brush!)
QUESTION:
DOES BODY MOISTURE MIST REPLACE A BODY LOTION LIKE THE LIQUID TALC BALM?
Women and men can use either the Body Moisture Mist or the Liquid Talc Balm as a body moisturizer.
It depends on your preference for the type of formulation. You may wish to use a combination of the two - women could use Liquid Talc Balm on legs and bikini areas after shaving and Body Moisture Mist on the rest of their body. Men could use Liquid Talc Balm after shaving and Body Moisture Mist on the rest of their body. Body Moisture Mist enable you to moisturize your own back without having to have someone else to massage a moisturizing lotion or cream into the skin for you.
QUESTION:
I NOTICED THE LAST SHIPMENT OF EYE AND THROAT SERUM I RECEIVED IS DARKER COMPARED TO PREVIOUS BATCHES. IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS PRODUCT?
There is nothing wrong. The reason for the colour difference is because of the natural botanicals in the product. Unlike man-made ingredients, there can be variations in colour and/or smell in any Harper product (just like things you grow in your garden). This difference can affect the look and smell of the finished product, but does not affect the results.

QUESTION:
I KNOW WE DON'T DO ANIMAL TESTING, BUT ARE ANY OF THE INGREDIENTS IN HARPER FORMULATIONS ANIMAL-DERIVED?
None of our products contain animal-derived ingredients. The cetyl alcohol, glycerin, stearic acid and lactic acid ingredients are all vegetable or herbal based.
QUESTION:
WHY DO WE HAVE ALCOHOL IN THE COOL MINT GEL?
The alcohol is necessary for two reasons: It works with the menthol and peppermint to cool the irritated/inflamed body part it is applied to; and it helps the gel dry quicker, rather than becoming "pasty" on the skin. Many medicines and proprietary drugs contain alcohol as they are a necessary part of the whole formula. This is the same with the Harper products that contain alcohol.

Just wanted to thank you and pass on a story about our wonderful Cool Mint Gel!
I was camping this past weekend and inadvertently stepped in a fire-ant mound. My legs and hands were covered in bites and were quite painful. Fortunately, I had a bottle of Cool Mint Gel in my truck and was thrilled that it took the sting out almost instantly. The bites seem to be healing very quickly as well. I will make certain that I always have a bottle on hand when enjoying the great outdoors!
