Although NMD's Walter and May Cooper had been in the work force for most of their lives, neither of them was able to retire. That is until early 1993 when their son, Eric Cooper, brought a bottle of Intra over for them to try. The rest is history !

At 66 years of age, Walter felt financially, physically and emotionally, ready " for the grave." " I felt like a financial failure, living from paycheck to paycheck and always having more month left at the end of the money ." As a man, Walter felt a deep sense of responsibility, to support and provide for his family. Now in his retirement years, the future looked bleak at best. " I've always worked hard for my employer, having high work ethics, although they never paid me what I felt I was worth . " Not only was Walter broke with no monetary hope for the future, but his health was deteriorating rapidly. " I love playing music, as a matter of fact I'm the hottest accordion player to come out of Ireland. But my hands were getting stiffer and sorer due to arthritis in my fingers, making it very painful to play a tune. "Among other ailments, Walter was suffering from low blood pressure, was always cold, chronically tired yet unable to get a good night's sleep, and had headaches daily. " I wouldn't leave the house without my headache pills for fear another headache would hit ." Walter says at all family gatherings, his kids would take pictures of him in his typical position. Asleep.

May's health was a little better than Walter's, though not much. At the beginning of each winter, May developed a chronic, hacking, dry cough which would eventually turn into bronchitis, and would hang on until the end of the season.

All their financial and physical problems left Walter feeling extremely despondent. " I was looking forward to Heaven," Walter says with his trademark smile, " Now my life seems like Heaven ! "

What led to this miraculous turn-around ? Walter and May both agree it was the liquid gold , Intra ! In March of that year, son Eric, using his parents as guinea pigs, gave them their first bottle. " I wasn't interested in trying anything that didn't taste like meat and potatoes. Except the Blarney Stone, but in my case I swallowed it ! Now I'm drinking Intra to help wash it down." After two weeks of "friendly persuasion ", Walter finally agreed to try it. " We have never looked back ! " they both excitedly exclaim. May's bronchial condition cleared up never to return !

May's comment now is, " We are having great fun together and are doing lots of travelliong and meeting people from many cultures around the world. We are having fun doing the business together. We both have more energy than we've had for a long time ! " Walter's results are no less dramatic. Now over six years later, Walter sings while doing an Irish Jig, " Look out world the Accordion King is back in business, " Walter sings while doing an Irish Jig, " even though I'm now 72, I feel like 39 ! I no longer suffer from painful headaches, I'm sleeping when I'm supposed to, and I am full of beans ! "

Now Walter and May are making an income they could only have dreamed about before. " No more rat race for us ! " After 53 years of trading time for money, Walter finally retired, in October 1993. Their natural enthusiasm and excitement for all the products has propelled them into a very successful "Lifestyles" career. Walter never thought he'd be able to say it, but, retirement is truly sweet !
